The SCI Impact Factor of Petroleum Exploration and Development exceeded 2.5 for the First Time

In the 2018 SCI Journal Citation Reports (JCR) released in June 20, 2019, the Impact Factor of Petroleum Exploration and Development is 2.54 ranked third (Q1) in the category of Petroleum Engineering, ranked in Q2 area in Geosciences. The total cites for the journal increases from 2,163 in 2017 to 2,858 in 2018.


Petroleum Exploration and Development is indexed and abstracted in both Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI) and Engineering Index (EI). It is published worldwide in both Chinese and English. The Chinese version of the journal (in which articles of foreign authors are translated into Chinese) can be read on the journal homepage and the journals platforms of CNKI, Wanfang Data and Cqvip. The English version of the journal is published on the Elsevier’s ScienceDirect.
