The impact factor of Petroleum Exploration and Development was 7.5, an increase of 44% from 5.194 in 2021, a new high in the history of world Petroleum engineering journals. The journal is located in Q1 area in both Petroleum engineering and geoscience journals, ranking first in the world's SCI journals of Petroleum engineering, and 11th in the world's 201 SCI journals of geoscience, 21 places higher than that in 2021.
